1st March marks International Wheelchair Day. While celebrating the positive impact wheelchairs make in the lives of people with disabilities, we also take this day to raise awareness and advocate for accessible infrastructure and other Government policies towards more equitable national development.

On the occasion of 13th International Wheelchair Day (1st March 2021), a wheelchair rally was organized in Kathmandu in a joint collaboration between the Social Welfare Council of Nepal, National Disabled Fund, Spinal Injury Sangh Nepal, and other national and international organizations working in the field of disability. The event was graced by Honorable Minister of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens, Juli Kumari Mahato. In addition, a two-day National Rehabilitation Discourse – 2077 (BS) was held from 1 – 2 March 2021.
