Friday night’s Fundraiser for Ram’s Wheelchair Yaatra was a resounding success where over Rs.85,000 was raised in this one night alone. Add this to the Rs.374,000 raised by Rosie Russell’s friends in the US, brings the Grand Total to Rs. 459,000 – wow! This more than covers the cost of Ram’s Wheelchair Yaatra and will allow for additional awareness of SCI in Nepal. Many Thanks and Much Appreciation to all our donors and well wishers around the world.
Ram Bahadur Tamang, a 31-year old paraplegic from Mankha Valley aspires to raise awareness on Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) among people in his wheelchair expedition, covering a remarkable distance of over 300 km stretching from Namo Buddha to Lumbini. Ram, currently a vocational training staff at SIRC and also a national wheelchair-basketball player, is determined to accomplish his maiden voyage, not only to generate public awareness on SCI, but also to meet and motivate others like him on the way!
If adequate support can be arranged for his optimistic effort, it is foreseeable that his determination and perseverance will transcend across national and international boundaries.
