Advocacy and Awareness

SIRC’s Advocacy and Awareness initiatives are dedicated to promoting the rights and inclusion of individuals with spinal cord injuries and disabilities. Through organizing awareness camps, SIRC educates the public about the challenges faced by these individuals, fostering greater understanding and empathy. The service also facilitates tours and visits from nursing campuses and hospital teams, offering an opportunity to share knowledge and build stronger collaborations in care. By celebrating important observances like International Wheelchair Day and SCI Day, SIRC raises visibility around the needs and achievements of those with spinal cord injuries. Additionally, the organization provides education on the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, ensuring that both individuals and communities are aware of the rights and protections that exist for people with disabilities.
